Things that don't make sense

Why do nurses wake you up after you've slept for 3 1/2 or 4 hours and ask you how you feel? How do I feel? I'm disoriented and a little confused. Last thing I remember I was on a very large, crowded stage dressed as Captain Kirk, wandering around doing my best to ad lib with the other characters. I couldn't remember any lines, but I was sure I had a scene with a Ferengi. Maybe, dear Nurse, you can find out for me 1) who cast a very pregnant woman as Captain Kirk, 2) where I can get a copy of my script and 3) why Kirk would have a scene with a Ferengi since they were not introduced until Next Gen. unless you're bound to lapse into a coma, can you tell them to knock it off?

course, they might assume you are then "agitated" and want to drug your brains out - so you can rest. sheesh.

Most of the time I get a much longer block of sleep, but sometimes the late night monitoring gets delayed for hours when too many people go into labor at the same time, then the early morning monitoring comes too soon. Fortunately, I can usually go right back to sleep afterward.

Mark and I were furious when I got woken at 5Am to nurse Adira...after a 62 hour labor with no sleep that had ended at 1:30 am before that. This nurse kept on repeating "You need to start nursing to establish your milk supply" as Adira and I were both crying. We actually complained to the head nurse and got out of there as soon as possible. Aside from that I think B+W is a great hospital.

Yikes, that was a long labor. I'm surprised they were even *able* to wake you up.
